Simplifying Vehicle Diagnostics & Repairs

Innova revamped its mobile app with features offering users comprehensive trip data and driving insights. Actionable information to improve their driving habits and monitor vehicle health.

Overview

With the aim to elevate its app’s user experience by integrating comprehensive trip data and driving behavior analytics. The project involved redesigning the UI to incorporate features like real-time driving statistics and tracking critical driving occurrences. The app was enhanced with Waze SDK integration, enabling users to manage routes directly from the app. The project also included developing a summary report PDF that offers insights into vehicle health and status.

This revamp was designed to provide drivers with actionable insights into their driving habits and vehicle performance.

The trip dashboard highlights essential statistics, such as distance traveled, fuel economy, and a driving score based on occurrences like hard braking and speeding. The clean and organized design ensures that users can quickly digest this information.

Integrating Complex Trip Data Seamlessly

The UI was restructured to create a clear and intuitive hierarchy of information. A card-based layout was employed, where each card focused on a specific aspect of the trip, such as distance, duration, or driving score. This approach allowed users to quickly glance at essential information without feeling overwhelmed. Additionally, the use of color-coding helped to visually separate different data categories, making the interface more user-friendly.

Ensuring Accuracy and Relevance in Driving Occurrence Reports

To address this, a robust backend algorithm was developed to analyze sensor data in real-time, ensuring that the driving occurrence reports were accurate and timely. The driving score was then calculated based on these occurrences and presented in a way that allows the driver to understand areas for improvement. The UI was designed to display these scores prominently, with detailed breakdowns available on tap.

The development team optimized the SDK integration to ensure that the app’s performance remained unaffected. A lightweight, responsive interface was developed, allowing users to start a drive, trigger searches, and set locations within Waze directly from the Innova app. The integration also allowed for critical data, such as ETA and next turn instructions, to be relayed back to the Innova app, enhancing the overall user experience.

Users can track their current journey details, including miles driven and fuel used, while following clear, step-by-step directions. The interface allows for an easy transition between the Innova app and Waze, offering users the flexibility to continue their navigation with a single tap.
